The Foundation’s goals include:

  • Being of service to donors who wish to invest in their region in a lasting way and to distribute income from gifts in accordance with the donor’s wishes.

  • Managing charitable gifts in a prudent manner for the long-term benefit of the community

  • Assisting area organizations in building their endowment resources, and

  • Assembling a diverse and knowledgeable board of directors to govern the foundation and provide leadership, where appropriate, to address important community needs or pursue, new progressive opportunities.

Through its partnership with The Norfolk Foundation, the Peninsula Community Foundation of Virginia offers a convenient way for donors to make charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations serving the Virginia Peninsula. As an affiliate, the Peninsula Foundation can draw on The Norfolk Foundation’s 55-years of experience in grantmaking and donor development. The Foundation provides a variety of back-office services to its affiliates to foster their philanthropic resources and connect those resources with nonprofit organizations in their communities.

Anyone interested in providing for the present and future needs of the residents of the Virginia Peninsula can become a donor. Two options are establishing a named fund or making a contribution to the unrestricted Community Fund.
