Allocation
Highlights
Celebrating its 20th year of funding, the Consortium has
contributed more than $14.2 million to arts organizations that
regularly perform or exhibit in south Hampton Roads.
A total of $749,500 was allocated to 31 arts and cultural
organizations in 2007.
78% of the Consortium funds in 2007 were awarded to the region’s
six largest arts organizations: The Chrysler Museum, Contemporary
Art Center of Virginia, Virginia Arts Festival, Virginia Opera,
Virginia Stage Company and Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
7% of the funds were awarded to organizations that work
exclusively with children: Bay Youth Orchestras, The Hurrah
Players, Theatre IV, Virginia Children’s Chorus and Young
Audiences of Virginia.
Recipients include regional arts organizations as well as
organizations located in Courtland, Norfolk, Portsmouth,
Suffolk, and Virginia Beach.
A new recipient in 2007 is
Hermitage Foundation Museum.
