The Beach Fund engages younger charitably minded Hampton Roads adults (or those who are young at heart) who want to connect with their community. In 2010 they recommended $19,250 in grants to four nonprofits working with children in the Lake Edward neighborhood of Virginia Beach.
Grant funding is provided by Beach Fund donations. Each member contributes a minimum of $400 annually to the Beach Fund permanent endowment. Annual membership lets you:
- Help award grants to area nonprofits.
- Learn about philanthropy and nonprofit needs.
- Join in hands-on volunteer projects.
- Attend social events and meet philanthropists.
- Learn about community issues and needs.
Join now online or by mail the attached enrollment form 
with a check for a minimum of $400 to the Hampton Roads Community Foundation. One Commercial Place, Suite 1410, Norfolk, VA 
23510. Online membership includes option for donating $400 in full or paying portions twice a year or quarterly.
