The Norfolk Foundation was founded in 1950
as the first community foundation in Virginia. Today it is
among the largest community foundations in the country. Its
mission is to make grants that transform the quality of
life and inspire philanthropy in southeastern Virginia. In
the past 58 years the Foundation has awarded more than $97
million in grants and scholarships to improve life in its
region.
