Academy for Nonprofit Excellence
The Hampton Roads Community Foundation helps staff members of nonprofit organizations in southeastern Virginia gain professional training and stay current in their fields.
In 2005 we started the Academy for Nonprofit Excellence in partnership with Tidewater Community College. Our goal is to provide ongoing courses in nonprofit management. Since then more than 760 area residents representing about 330 different nonprofits have taken nonprofit courses, and more than 35 have earned Certificates in Nonprofit Management.
The academy offers an annual 10-month curriculum of one- and two-day classes. All classes are held at TCC's Norfolk campus on Granby Street. The cost is $60 for one-day classes; $85 for two-day courses. Teachers are experts in their fields, topics are timely, and classes fill quickly so early registration is a must. In addition to learning from instructors, participants build valuable relationships with other nonprofit staff members.
Online class option: You can now take specialized courses and learn at your own pace in your office or at home. You can still earn credit towards your Certificate in Nonprofit Management. Click here for details on web-based courses.
