Workshops

The Norfolk Foundation is committed to enhancing the work of nonprofit organizations in southeastern Virginia through its support of training for nonprofit staff and board members.

In 2005 the Foundation debuted the Academy for Nonprofit Excellence in partnership with Tidewater Community College. The academy provides ongoing courses and allows nonprofit staff and board members to earn Certificates in Nonprofit Management. In 2006 The Virginian-Pilot signed on as an academy sponsor.

The nonprofit training academy offers an annual 10-month curriculum of one- and two-day classes for both new and seasoned staff and board members. The cost is $60 for one-day classes and $85 for two-day courses. Courses often fill to capacity so early registration is encouraged. Please check www.tcc.edu/wd/academy for course descriptions and registration information.
