Who Are Smith Scholars?
Overview
Smith Scholars are all physicians or medical students who have
several factors in common:

Each received a scholarship from the Florence L. Smith
Medical Fund of the Hampton Roads Community Foundation between 1952 and today
-
At the time of their scholarship they were long-time
Virginia residents
-
Each attended or is attending a medical school in
Virginia in order to earn an M.D. degree
Since the Smith Scholarship started in 1952 nearly 700
physicians have benefited from the generosity of the late Florence L.
Smith. These physicians have amassed a significant track record of
public service to their patients and their fields.
